On Friday, November 16th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Dahl Arts Center will be hosting the Holiday Art Market, a gathering of over 30 vendors showcasing a variety of handmade items made by regional artists. This event is presented by the Rapid City Arts Council and supports the council’s programs, as well as talented local artists. Guests have the opportunity to browse through an eclectic mix of pottery, paintings, jewelry, scarves, Christmas cards, and much more. Storybook Island Christmas Nights of Light

Join in on one of Rapid City’s beloved holiday traditions by attending Storybook Island’s Christmas Nights of Lights. From November 23rd through December 31st, the fairytale-themed park is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with train rides and visits from Santa and his reindeer. Hot cocoa, apple cider and cookies are sold on site to help keep you nice and cozy during your stroll. Storybook Island uses the proceeds from this and other events to fund park operations during summer months, allowing it to remain a free family attraction for the community to enjoy. Fork Real Café

If you’re looking for tasty eats from a business dedicated to a great cause, Fork Real Café is the place for you. Modeled after One World Everybody Eats, an organization committed to increasing food security through pay-what-you-can cafés, Fork Real allows guests to pay for the full value of their meal, volunteer in exchange for a meal, or pay it forward by paying in advance for someone else’s meal. Not only is this new addition to the Rapid City community helping to bring people together in the fight against hunger, but they are also serving fresh farm-to-table meals and delectable desserts while doing so. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and features an ever-changing menu of healthy savory dishes and delicious little treats.
